Our 2nd Food Bank Run – 24th March 2024
We had a great turnout for our recent “Food Bank Run” organised by the Dorset Doddlers. The event whichheld in Sturminster Newton was in support of The Vale Pantry. Over 70 people attended the event, a mixture of members of the Doddlers and the local community who came along to either walk, jog or run the various routes – there was something for everyone.
The Food Bank Run is a national event for running clubs across the country and the Doddlers have confirmed this will be added to their annual calendar. The event is free to enter, all the Doddlers ask is either a donation of dry foods or a small monetary donation.
A group of Clayesmore School students made the event even more colourful when they decided to support the event, arriving in fancy dress to the amusement of all the other participants.
The Vale Pantry were also in attendance and kept everyone supplied with cakes, hot drinks, and many other goodies.
At the end of the event there was a large donation of dry food to help stock the Pantry’s shelves, and a quick count of the money received on the day revealed a staggering £1,200 had been donated.
We would like to thank everyone who came along on the day, all those who donated in advance, and the Vale Pantry for their support on the day. See you all next year!
The Doddler Parkrun Takeover – 13th May 2023
On May 13th 2023 the Doddlers organised a ParkRun Takeover at Henstridge Airfield Parkrun. It was great fun and a lot of us got involved.
The Food Bank Run – 25th Feb 2023
Thank you to everyone who came along to our 1st Food Bank Run on Saturday 25th February in aid of the Vale Pantry. We were one of nearly 600 runs taking part this month. We counted over 40 people taking part and we donated lots of goodies for the pantry. Let’s make it even bigger next year!
